Happy New Year to all our friends and supporters!
YRS spent a lot of time in 2015 developing our second Five Year Strategic Plan, the major components of which are based on our new aspirational statement:
Towards 2020 YRS will ensure fewer Balinese women develop female cancers, and more enjoy good sexual and reproductive health.
To realize this, in 2016 we are introducing two new programs and expanding our Mobile Clinic program:
Portable Ultrasound Machine Services
With the money raised from our November 21 fundraiser and the extremely generous support of Dr Anne Bendt in Singapore, YRS is purchasing a portable Ultrasound Machine, to greatly increase our accuracy in detecting breast cancer.
See & Treat
With funds awarded through the Australian Consulate-General’s Direct Aid Program we are introducing our own See & Treat program, which has proved successful in contributing to cervical cancer prevention in Indonesia and many low-resource regions around the world.
Mobile Clinic Program
After a very successful Mobile Clinic in Bontihing Village, West Singaraja last October, where YRS staff received 290 clients, we will be expanding our Mobile Clinic program to East Singaraja next year.
YRS staff say “Terima kasih banyak!” to all our friends and donors for your continued support throughout 2015. We look forward to sharing stories of how we’re improving the lives of low-income women of Bali’s traditional market communities with our new programs and existing services in 2016.
Matur suksme dan salam hangat,
Dr Sari & YRS staff
