YRS Staff with Udayana University students

YRS conducted a Mobile Clinic in Sangsit Village, Buleleng on Saturday 4 March. This is the first time that we have taken a Mobile Clinic to this village. It took four hours for the team to drive from Denpasar to Sangsit Village. The Mobile Clinic was in collaboration with Udayana University students who asked YRS Director Dr Sari and the YRS team to conduct the clinic in Sangsit Village. They arranged the venue for the mobile clinic and they also informed the community.

About 130 people attended the mobile clinic. Our team delivered general health services, tests for STIs, Pap tests and VIA tests for early detection of cervical cancer, VCT for HIV tests and breast self-exams for early detection of breast cancer.

During the education session YRS staff delivered information about sexual and reproductive health and other general health issues. YRS staff also conducted a small group discussion to share information about cervical cancer.

The community was enthusiastic about the mobile clinic. Although they had a cremation ceremony in their village in at that time, they still made time to attend because they want to know about their health status.
